I've been using VO on Vim 7 since Vim 7 was released, with no issues at
all. I don't know if Vim 7 will make development of VO easier, however.
I'll leave that answer to Noel.

Ditto (on using VO + Vim 7)

Re: VO & VIM7

I have been using VO for a few years and now I am just starting to use
VIM7.
I have a question: These numbers and characters I now see in column one,
is this a result of VIM7 or something I have done different?

I see pipe '|' symbols and '2' in the column.

These are a consequence of vim 7. Popped up here to.

:set foldcolumn=0

sends them home again.

All,

Maybe that should be part of vo_base.vim. I can't think of any outlining
situation where one would want a foldcolumn value other than zero.

That can be done. I liked the way it worked in vim 6.x but in 7, it gets
a little distracting? Consensus?

sorry for being late to the party, only now I start to catch up with
my email backlog after job changing.
I don't have anything against any default settings that can (I) be
tweaked afterwards, (ii) are well documented.

Specifically about foldcolumn, just wanted to mention I'm doing
something again the opposite way as most people then. :o

I had foldcolumn set to 2 for ages, even before vim7, so I haven't
notice any change in behaviour after upgrading from 6.3 to 6.4, and
then from 6.4 to 7.0...

I found foldcolumn set to 2 quite useful when manipulting indentation level.

(Moreover, I have :set number :o...)

Have a nice day,
  Peter
