best practices for macvim updates, etc?

Chris Lott
What is the best way to reliably keep (relatively) up to date with
Macvim on OSX?  I can install it from the snapshots that are
occasionally released, using brew, or from source (I assume)...not
sure which is best. I've been using Brew, but I'm getting a bit
confused with where to install/link it, whether to overwrite the
system vim, how to use the mvim script, etc...

When I upgrade, I simply replace the app with the current snapshot in the programs folder and overwrite the previous mvim script in /usr/local/bin which is part of my PATH. Never compiled from source to this day.

Still, I am not sure if this the kind of answer you expected...

Cheers,
Kay

I pull the source and do hg pull and then hg update then recompile.
