diffput does not trigger TextChanged event

Rick Howe
I am using vim7.4 and trying to develop a diff related script. I found that diffget triggers a TextChanged event, but diffput does not. I set an autocommand something like this:

au! TextChanged * echo 'got it on ' . bufnr('%')

Is that a defect or a regular behavior?

It is by design. TextChanged only regards the _current_ buffer, as
mentioned in ":help TextChanged".

Would be an interesting feature if the event could be handled for
other buffers, but Vim is not well-equipped to manipulate any buffer
that is not the current buffer[1].
